Info
This choreography is a weave of gestures inspired by the golden threads that mend this ancient coat with stars; it is a dance of stitches, a tribute to my mother, who was a passionate and volcanic stylist, completely at one with her sketches, fabrics, buttons, and pattern paper. I owe my deep love for clothing to her. Dance of Golden Threads is also a loving memory of my grandmother Cecilia, who spent hours in the evenings mending the clothes of her four children, calm and elegant.
These gestures also represent the intertwined threads of my life as a mother and dancer, with hands softened by the honey I prepare for so many people in our life in the mountains.
It is meant to be a loving thought for women who, in their lives, mend with care and creativity the various roles they embody—many lives stitched together into one.
A special thanks to Paola Pellino, the Guardarobiera, who brought magic, beauty, and memories to the dance with her Overcoat of Stars and luminous mending.
